French fashion label Chanel S.A. will launch its first-ever makeup line for men in South Korea next month as men wearing makeup in a beauty revolution has become a trend.
According to Chanel Korea on Tuesday, the French label will launch its makeup line for men, Boy De Chanel, in Korea on Sept. 1 for the first time. The collection will be available for purchase via the brand’s online website from November and at offline boutiques across the world from January next year.
Boy De Chanel is a makeup line that consists of must-have items for men to polish image and boost self-confidence, the French luxury house said.
Korean Actor Lee Dong-wook will be the front face for the brand’s campaign, becoming the first Korean actor to take on the role, his agency said on Tuesday.
An unnamed official from Chanel said that the company picked Lee as the new makeup line’s campaign model as his manly, sophisticated, and confident image matches well with brand value. The campaign led by Lee is expected to lead the brand to success given his popularity across Asia including Korea, Japan, Great China region, and Southeast Asia.
