South Korean President Moon Jae-in and first lady Kim Jung-sook were greeted by their North Korean hosts Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju as they arrived at Pyongyang’s Sunan International Airport Tuesday morning. They were given top honor from the military guard and greeted by a civilian welcome crowd waving the neutral Korean Peninsula flag. Moon became the third South Korean president to visit Pyongyang. Moon and Kim meeting for the third time this year heartily embraced each other and shared a car to head to Pyongyang’s state guesthouse Paekhwawon, where Moon is expected to spend his two nights in Pyongyang. The visitors waved to the welcoming crowd who held out a banner saying "Welcome to Pyongyang, President Moon Jae-in."
Their formal summit talks start at 3:30 p.m.
