South Korea’s biennial auto show kicked off Thursday, packed with 200 motors in Korean and foreign names.

Under the slogan of “Beyond Innovation, Into the Future”, this year’s Busan International Motor Show held at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (Bexco) in the second biggest city in southern coast highlights future mobility in key features of autonomous driving and clean fuel.

Korea-based producers Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors and GM Korea and 15 foreign carmakers took part in the show. When involving parts suppliers, the participating list goes up to 170. The show opens to the public from Friday.

Mercedes-Benz showcased its global premiere model, and Genesis and Kia Motors Asian premiere versions.

Hyundai Motor introduced 23 new models including its HDC-2 Grandmaster Concept sport utility vehicle, and Kia Motors 22 new models with its concept crossover SUV Niro EV.

GM Korea unveiled Chevrolet’s flagship compact SUV Equinox for the first time and started receiving orders at the event with hope that the best-selling car can help it drive sales in Korea.
