South Korea’s largest steel maker Posco has opened its first overseas marketing center for building steel products in Vietnam to offer technical solutions for product molding, binding and upgrading.
Posco said on Thursday it has set up a building steel solution marketing center at Posco SS Vina in Ba Ria, Vung Tau Province in southern Vietnam. Through the new center, the company will not only sell its building steel products but also provide various solutions for products, according to Posco.
The Korea’s biggest steel maker expects the center will help it rapidly expand its presence in the burgeoning premium steel product market in Vietnam. Vietnam has emerged as a key building steel market in Southeast Asia thanks to a boom in the country’s construction market. By 2020, the demand for building steels in Vietnam is expected to account for about 80 percent, or worth 24 million tons, in the country’s entire steel market.
At the new center, the steelmaker also plans to actively promote a package deal of various products like Rolled H-Beam, Built-up H-Beam and steel bar for mega projects. For that, three departments with 25 staffs including construction experts will stay at the center to provide strategy planning, solution development and technical services.
