South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. said Wednesday it has partnered with Dell EMC, an American computing and storage company, to drive digital transformation in the global power and water treatment market.
The strategic alliance would combine Dell EMC’s advanced digital capabilities with the Korean builder’s expertise in designing, building and operating power and water treatment plants.
Their first joint project would be to modernize a power plant in India. They would deliver a digital solution equipped with Doosan’s power plant optimization software mounted on Dell EMC’s devices, resulting in enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions. The plant is expected to install the new solution this month and start operation from October.
“We intend to strengthen our partnership with other global IT firms like Dell EMC to bring more digital solutions to the global power and water services market,” said an official from Doosan Heavy.
In June, it struck a similar alliance with SAP, a German enterprise software company.
The firm also plans to integrate digital technology in optimizing desalination facilities.
