South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. has joined hands with U.S. tech giant Microsoft Corporation to beef up marketing of its premium quantum-dot technology based TV, or QLED TV, pitted against LG Electronics Inc.’s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV in the premium screen market.

Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday that it will work with Xbox, a home video game console brand created by Microsoft and carry out a truck game tour that goes around major U.S. cities to promote premium QLED TVs. Under the partnership, Samsung Electronics will carry six QLED TVs and Microsoft Xbox One X console in a large truck to arrange a moving experience zone that moves around the whole U.S. to market its premium TV technology.

The truck will visit 14 U.S. cities until early next month starting with Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, and Houston. Samsung Electronics said that it will hold a QLED Cup, a game competition using Xbox’s representing Forza Motorsport 7 game. The winners will be awarded prizes prepared by Samsung Electronics and Xbox.

The latest program has been put together by Samsung Electronics to pitch premium QLED TV as gaming platform to U.S. gamers.

An unnamed official from Samsung Electronics said that when gamers start a video game, its QLED TV automatically shifts into game mode and provide world-class gaming environment. It also supports full color volume and high-class ultra definition television technology to allow gamers to play game in vivid screen.
