South Korea’s leading mobile carrier SK Telecom Co. signed a business agreement with the world’s top drone maker DJI based in Shenzhen, China, to cooperate in developing technology for drone service and global marketing, the company announced Sunday.
Under the agreement, SK Telecom will provide its solutions for live streaming encoding and server software to DJI. The two companies will also jointly develop applications by combining SK Telecom’s live streaming solution T Live Studio and DJI’s drone operations management solution Flight Hub.
“We plan to collaborate in advancing solutions for live streaming from drones for 5G smartphones and tablets,” an official from the company said.
Shares of SK Telecom closed Monday up 4.78 percent at 241,000 won.
