S. Korea’s Fashion Group Hyungji enhances footwear business

South Korea’s Fashion Group Hyungji Co. has launched a new shoes lineup under its mainstay women’s wear brand as part of efforts, making an official move for its inroad into the local footwear market.

According to Fashion Group Hyungji on Friday, Crocodile Ladies has released a new shoes lineup dubbed Li+Com Series, the first shoe brand since Hyungji first established the shoe business division last year. Hyungji plans to introduce more lineups this year to create synergy with its local women’s clothing brands like Crocodile Ladies, Chatelaine and Olivia Hassler.

Li+Com is an acronym for ‘light and comfort shoes’. The lineup is characterized by its light weight and high cushion thanks to the use of a phylon sole. Phylon is often used for hiking and trekking shoes because of its lightweight, flexible and good cushioning features.

“We’ve considered various body types and lifestyles of women in their 30s and 40s to make the best shoes for them,” said a Fashion Group Hyungji official, adding that the trainers and ankle boots developed by the company’s shoe and handbag brand Esquire were received well by consumers when they hit the market last year.
