Samsung Electronics Monday posted a logo image teasing a foldable phone, suggesting imminent release of the new type of handheld device in hopes for sales boost from a technology breakthrough in the stagnant and all-about-the-same smartphone market. The teaser was unveiled on its social media site just two days ahead of the company’s developer conference, which starts on November 7.

According to SamMobile, a Dutch IT site, Samsung`s first foldable smartphone is named `Galaxy F (SM-F900U).` Some sources forecast details of the new device will debut at the company`s developer conference in San Francisco.

Samsung’s Galaxy F may come with firmware version F900USQU0ARJ5 and include 512GB of internal storage with Dual SIM support. The South Korean electronics maker is said to be testing the U.S.-specific firmware for the foldable device for major mobile networks in the country and the starting price may exceed $2,000, according to SamMobile.

Samsung’s foldable phone is expected to be a tiny 4.6-inch screen while folded, opening to a full 7.3-inch display thanks to a flexible AMOLED and a patented hinge design.

Samsung is very likely to showcase its first commercial foldable device at Consumer Electronics Show in January or Mobile World Congress 2019 in February.
