Doosan Infracore., the heavy equipment unit of South Korean conglomerate Doosan Group, said on Wednesday it has launched DoosanCONNECT in Korea, which is a telematics solution brand dedicated to remote monitoring of heavy construction equipment.
DoosanCONNECT is designed to increase efficiency in site management and equipment operation through real-time data monitoring to check engine and hydraulic system parts of excavators, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks and other construction equipment and to visualize their location and availability.
Doosan Infracore, which launched its first telemactics service in China in 2005, has stretched its presence in European and North American markets, now covering approximately 46,000 construction equipment worldwide. An upgraded version of DoosanCONNECT introduced to China and Europe was based on its accumulated service know-how, equipment data and technology.
Customers receive a monthly report on equipment operations from Doosan Infracore to ensure efficient equipment deployment with detailed information on service hours and fuel consumption and timely responses to filter and oil replacement, according to the company said.
The company plans to expand the types of equipment covered by DoosanCONNECT and develop various services based on the telematics system to manage consumables and provide maintenance packages, the company said.
Doosan Infracore and its sister comany Doosan Bobcat have increased their footprint in the world’s construction machinery market, raising their combined market share to sixth place in 2016 with a record $4.93 billion in sales.
