The South Korean government unveiled the main conference room where South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un hold the historic summit meeting on Friday, accompanied by the most influential policymakers from both sides of the border.
The venue for the largest-ever gathering of top brass from the two Koreas at the same time is located on the second floor of the Peace House, a building on the South Korean side of the border village of Panmunjom, that had been hastily renovated to host the first North Korean leader to cross the border after the 1953 war as global eyes look on through live feed and coverage by nearly 3,000 journalists.
Two leaders will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the military demarcation line that divides the two nations. The summit talks will last for an hour later at Panmunjom. The leaders will then have lunch separately, plant a symbolic pine tree at the demarcation line, and hold the second round of talks. They are due to issue a joint statement later on.
