A special ad by LG Electronics Inc. targeting Indian consumers has drawn widespread attention from millions of consumers in the country, the company said on Friday.
According to the company, its latest ad campaign launched to celebrate its 20-year anniversary of making an inroad into India has received over 100 million views on YouTube in less than five months.
The four-minute long video tells a story of a single mom and her daughter. The girl dreams of becoming an astronaut, believing that her father lives among the stars, and the mother sells the house TV to support her daughter’s dream. The daughter eventually fulfills her wish and presents her mom with an LG OLED TV.
Indians tend to hold high family values and this engaging story appears to have struck an emotional chord with them, according to the company. The commercial was made to deliver a key message that LG products have become integral in the lives of Indian consumers, the company explained.
LG Electronics first entered the Indian market in 1997 and has since launched products tailored to the local lifestyle and living culture and carried out regionally-specific community services.
