North Korea proposed to send a full-scale delegation of government officials, athletes, cheering squad, audience, and reporters to the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics in Tuesday’s first high-level inter-Korean talks in nearly two years.
It remains unclear whether the two will agree to form a united team at the sports event.
The talks are ongoing touching on military issues as well as resuming reunion of war-separated families.
The two sides plan to issue joint statement after the talks. The talks are led by Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon on the South and Chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country Ri Son Gwon on the North.
