South Korean retail giant Shinsegae said its all-in-one shopping theme park Starfield Goyang will host a grand opening celebration on Aug. 24 after a week-long pre-opening from Thursday in the northwestern outskirts of Seoul. The largest shopping theme park in the region has a four-story building with two underground floors with a gross floor area of 364,000 square meters on land of 91,000 square meters. Up to 4,500 cars can park at the same time. One third of the premises are for entertainment and leisure activities, lager than its predecessor in Hanam, Gyeonggi, allowing consumers to spend more time inside while enjoying shopping. Shinsegae plans to expand its offline shopping platform by adding Starfield complexes in other satellite cities of Seoul in the near future.
