South Korea’s second largest automaker Kia Motors Corp. on Monday released the country’s first plug-in hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV) Niro, the Niro PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid). It also released 2018 version of the compact SUV model Niro. The Niro PHEV can run up to 24.9 miles (40 kilometers) on a single power charge and 497.1 miles (800 kilometers) on a combined gasoline-battery drive. It boasts a maximum horsepower of 141ps and a maximum torque of 27.0kgf•m. It boasts fuel economy of 18.6 kilometers per liter for gasoline and 5.1 kilometers per kilowatt hour (kWh) for electricity.
The Niro PHEV’s price varies from 33.05 million won ($29,412, Prestige) to 35.35 million won (Noblelesse).
