South Korea’s Lotte Home Shopping Inc. said on Monday a trade show it sponsored in Thailand drew business opportunities worth $51 million for 60 Korean small and mid-sized makers and merchants.
According to Lotte Home Shopping, 60 businesses including 40 small- and mid-size firms and 20 startups took part in its two-day trade expo dedicated to promoting Korean brands in Bangkok, Thailand.
About 200 foreign buyers visited their booths and negotiated deals worth $51 million.
The TV shopping channel sponsored the overseas trade event to help its supply partners seek business opportunities in overseas. It arranged and shouldered the entire cost of the event.
Under a partnership it had signed with Lotte Home Shopping, the Incheon Port Authority covered the logistics for the event.
Lotte Home Shopping has been supporting local small- and mid-size firms find new export markets since 2016. The company sponsored six trade shows over the past two years in Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. The company plans to organize two trade shows every year on a regular basis and explore new markets.
