Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it has opened a cooking studio filled with its built-in appliances in partnership with local food company Sempio as part of its strategy to strengthen its built-in appliances business and help globalize Korean diet.

The partnership was announced at Sempio’s cooking studio in the presence of Kim Hyun-suk, president of Samsung’s consumer electronics, and Sempio CEO Park Jin-sun.

The space dubbed “Sempio Korean Taste Space” will be used to hold cooking classes and workshops for consumers who would be learning traditional Korean cuisine while testing out Samsung products at the same time.

The studio is entirely made up of Samsung’s premium kitchen appliances from its Internet of Things-based Family Hub refrigerator, bottom-mounted freezer-type fridge, induction cooktop and WaterWall dishwasher to its built-in oven.

Samsung will officially launch US-based built-in brand Dacor in the domestic market this year for the first time since it acquired the company in 2016, Kim said during the partnership ceremony.

Samsung Electronics said it will continue to reinforce its position in the premium built-in appliance market by expanding the partnership with local retailers and top kitchen brands not only in Korea but also in America and Europe.
